  • Darker garnet, approaching purple in color. Full, enticing nose of blackberry, licorice, earthy tones, plum, and floral notes. Lots of black currant, blackberry, and cassis on the palate with enough green leaf to confirm cabernet franc but wonderfully integrated and balanced. Nicely acidic and energetic with smoothed tannin, leading to longer finish of buoyant dark berry fruit, a bit of green pepper, tobacco, and grip. Delicious in its adolescence, this wine has character and energy in spades.

  • Very deep and concentrated cherry red color with somewhat developed maroon hue. Rich and somewhat developed nose with aromas of ripe and juicy blackcurrants, some barnyardy leather tones, a little bit of cooked bell pepper, woody hints of pencil shavings, light smoky character and a touch of chocolatey oak. The wine is full-bodied, dense and concentrated on the palate with quite powerful, savory flavors of crunchy blackcurrants, roasted bell peppers, some sweet and toasty oak, a little bit of ripe dark fruits and a hint of cocoa. The wine is moderately high in acidity with very ample yet ripe and mellow tannins that slowly but steadily coat your mouth. The mouthfeel is rich, smooth and velvety. The finish is dry, long and powerful with complex and delicious flavors of herbaceous bell pepper character, roasted spices and peppercorns, some ripe and juicy blackcurrants, a little bit of sweet toasty oak and a hint of somewhat wizened dark fruits. The ample tannins lend nice, chewy texture and moderate grip to the aftertaste.

A big, rich and concentrated Cab Franc with a lot of depth, power and oomph. Feels like it would've been quite modern, unctuous and oaky when it was young, but now it is just impressive. Most likely will only get better with further age. Drinking wonderfully now, but will continue to develop for the next 3-7 years or more. Will keep for a long time. A real powerhouse of a Chinon. Recommended.

  • Quite a fragrant nose of dark blackberry, barnyard vegetables and stone. Light mouth but inky and staining. Fairly herbaceous and tangy on the finish. This is indeed well made with a focus on purity and less oak. Needs some decant time and time in the cellar. After decant this smoothed out the leafyness and allowed a pure but herbaceous fruit to come through. Finish cleaned up considerable but still substantial.

  • Bright currants on the nose with leafy notes, bellpepper and stone dust.
Medium bodied, refreshingly structured and balanced palate with good grip of healthy tannins. Currants and raspberries, bellpepper and slight barnyard.
A very nice slightly aged Chinon.
