This is the least «wow» experience I’ve had with Ganevat. Sure, the glou glou reds are less complex, but at least they’re fun. This cuvée feels a little awkward. Medium lemon, just a slight cloudiness. Ripe and oxidative nose with some cheese rind, wax, spices and yellow plums. Quite rich yet bright on the attack. Slightly fatty mouthfeel and a slight grip in the exit. Not bad, just not wowed.

60% Chardonnay & 40% Savagnin (40%). Natural, biodynamic, aged 2-3 years on the lees in used foudres. Med+ nose is somehow both reductive and showing some oxidative notes. Lemon, lime, minerals, smoke. Dry, w/ med to med+ acidity and alcohol (13.5%). Med body, flavor intensity & length. A decent wine, but not particularly good QPR. Drink now, not likely to improve w/ further aging.

My first negoce bottling in ages from ganevat and frankly it was merely ok. This is 60% Chardonnay and 40% savagnin…similar to the cuvee oregane. If that’s the case, I much prefer the domaine bottling.

Mineral and citrus driven. Pleasant but not very distinctive.
