Dark; berried fruit, whiff of eucalyptus, meaty; deep, iron tannate, extracted, substantial, dry tannins unresolved; this needs more time but will it ever pull together?

1hr decant. Still very dark colour, brighter and more vibrant on the rim. Lovely dark berry fruit on the nose, with a good wiff of liquorice. Still full and thick, very palate coating, still a good lick of tannin on the finish. A tiny bit lacking in acidity to start, but it comes through nicely in the mid palate and onto the finish, properly balancing the sweet fruit and tannin. Overall a lovely classic aged Barossa Shiraz, probably at its peak, and i think likely to stay there for the next couple of years.

Didn’t seem 15 years old. Big wine, oak, rich, chocolate but with bite on the finish so not overblown

Mellowing nicely, good integration & balance with a medium finish. No hurry to drink.
