Friday Night Blind Tasting (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): Medium yellow color. The nose shows popcorn, pear and a distinct aroma of brie rind. The palate is bold and intense, and there is some butter and oak here. Tasted blind, we're clearly in chardonnay territory. What's unique about this wine is the distinct flavor of limestone and seashell that makes me think Chablis. I was glad to see this was a Defaix, as I've enjoyed this producer for years. It was really delicious, and I like the combination of flavors. Thanks, Bob, for popping this. I loved it.

NOSE: Pineapple, honeyed pineapple. PALATE: More pronounced honey tones, though I've seen honey completely take over the palate, and this was more restrained. Medium acidity, not as much as I'd like in a white with that much residual sugar. Pretty good overall, though a bit sweet for me.

WLTV Party; 3/29/2008-3/30/2008 (Springfield, NJ): Tasted at the WLTV after-party at Basilico's.
NOSE: Pineapple, honeyed pineapple.
