Deep yellow. The nose shows a tropical dessert of yellow pears and lemon curd, with pie crust, nougat, crumb cake, and some helpful doses of salt and chalk. The palate is juicy and fun, has nuanced acidity that keeps things going forward, and solid complexity. Flavors of ripe yellow apples, orange creamsicle, and pineapple mix with tones of buttered biscuits, toasted oak, and almond skin. A deep, suave, creamy style but it stays vibrant and you can’t deny the deliciousness.

Quite nice. Acidity is maybe medium-plus and the oak use is significant but not overly heavy-handed. Mostly lemon on the nose. The primary flavors aren’t super distinct to me but there’s definitely some baked yellow apple in there before the oak spice hits you, which combine into sort of a butterscotch. My personal preference is for less new oak to let the fruit shine but for those who like NFO, this will definitely appeal. 100% malo and sur-lie aging give it some body but I don’t get any bready notes. Overall, I think you can do much better at this price point.

Hints of stone fruit, possibly nectarine. A little vanilla and slight oak.
