  From memory. Brownish light garnet. Decanted 7 hours. reasonably fresh at opening, this wine displayed tasty dark fruit along with excellent deep mature flavors, no VA whatsoever. Not a great Barolo, but a beautiful bottle nonetheless. Enjoyed with diane strip steaks.

  From memory. Decanted 8 hours before dinner, best after 10. Nice color and elegant rather than powerful, fresh and recognizably nebbiolo. It may simply reflect the weak vintage, but this bottle seemed not as tasty as some other similarly old Piemonte wines that are blended, but less pedigreed.

  Superb mature nose of sweet leather, some mustiness when open initially. The wine has smooth and rounded tannins and retains some austere fruit. Good length.
