Visit to Woodlands, Margaret River. I have read a lot about Woodlands, however overall this was quite a disssapointing visit, wines lacked any sort of drive; quite linear and weak in the mid-palate, and even though they were well made they all missed a little something. The Woodlands Cabernet Sauvignon was probably the highlight, however at $229 AUD it was a hard pass. At $100 this would be an easy buy
Estate grown from their new vineyard, this is significantly better than the previous two Chardonnays, citrus, peaches, nectarine , jasmine, vanilla and baking spice, wonderful weight and texture on the mid- palate, drops off a little but in general much more enjoyable, nice sneaky length.
