Old vines N-S-G. Just somewhat browning of a medium ruby in color. Nose is immediately appealing mix of cherry, raspberry, forest floor, black tea. There are also notes of nut hulls, lavender, allspice, and smoke. Fairly full on the palate. Not as exotic as the nose, but velvety, briary, woodsy. Strongly structured. A tapered rim balloon showed this better than a flared rim balloon. This does seem to evolve in the glass, revealing different aspects of energy, structure, power, and elegance - maybe none of them on there own quite outstanding, but on the whole continues to sustain a lot of interest. 89-91.

Nice villages wine. Perhaps a bit closed at the moment but time will tell
