  • This was electric and tightly wound. The nose was beautiful with sweet spices, florality, and a hint of smoke. The palate was like a block of stone being chiseled into by fresh quince and lemons. There was a softer edge of sweet herbs that helped to make this quite fine. So linear and racy at this point. Drinking this over 5 days didn’t do anything to soften the edges of this very young wine. Much patience needed here.

  • I think it’s ok but so simple and flat for the price. First Trocken I try so it could be that. I think the Feinherb Barrel X provides a better bang for your buck. Would not buy this again

  • 10% abv. AP 10. Grown in the Schloßberg and Taubenhaus facing each other from east to west respectively. 2g of Residual Sugar and 8.3g of acid.
NOSE: dang, I just read MFW's note, and now all I can do is reiterate: backward (certainly) ... spontaneous fermentation ... smoke. It's so attenuated that it reminds me of sour, waxed strips of canvas under the tensile force of a dozen anvils. Brittle ocean matcha. Lemon peel and seed. I'll have to set this aside for a few hours before I can assign it a numerical score.
Finishing the bottle 24 hours later only raises more questions. It's a severe experience, and remarkably clean and clear. I have a hunch that the rewarding information to be found in it is in a state of eclipse. Trying to access it leaves only a handful of whispers. I won't score this. Maybe I'll try it again after a few seasons and find something amazing. Ideal at ~60-65° F.
