I had pretty much moved on from Lacrima di Morro, because — while it was always a fascinating grape — I found the unique floral & herbal flavors so overpowering to food that I couldn’t figure out how to pair it successfully with anything. But recently a friend mentioned she felt the producers had been toning down some of that craziness of late, so I figured I’d jump back in. And I’d say that’s exactly what that is: a clean, fresh example of LdM that offers enough of that floral & herbal stuff to be considered typical of the grape, but not so much that it gets in the way of enjoyment, especially with medium weight foods. Good value too ($17).

Nice aromatics, burst of sttawberry on the palette with lavendar and earthy notes, good tannins off the front that fades quickly with a short finish.
