The first bottle was corked and this was a replacement from the Domaine. A mix of different vintages with the base being '93, which is not the best vintage itself. It was balanced, mild and pleasant overall. It has high acidity and some tartness on the finish. I doubt that you could do better with such a poor base year. The packaging is posh and was destined for the millenium, I gather.

Jen's Birthday (Lake Bluff, IL): There was a difference in opinion as to whether or not this was corked. I believe it was slightly, but as psmith stated below, the taint became less noticable with time. Crisp yellow fruits and wet rock with a nice toastiness on the palate.

Jen's birthday (Inovasi; Lake Bluff, IL): Likely a bit corked, but this seemed to fade over time, most likely as the wine just gained in body in masked it a bit. Clean, crisp nose with chardonnay-heavy styling. Mineral and oyster shell type notes. Big palate - clearly some more mature components as there's a nice richness here. Enjoyable despite the likely taint.

Ruinart: One of the most exquisite commemorative boxed presentations comes from Ruinart. Its l'Exclusive de Ruinart, available only in magnums, is encased in a filigree of silver plate created by Christofle silversmiths and cradled on white leather cushions inside a rare African walnut case. Once the cork is popped, use the case for storing treasures and the bottle as a decanter. ($1,500).

Golden color. Quite developed. Still full bodied.
