Smells like a port. It is definitely showing it's age and I was unsure if it would show anything positive considering ithe age and the fact that it was simply sitting in my closet for a couple of years.
I did chill it for 15 minutes in the fridge to drop the temp down a bit and have it being poured through a strainer and aerator.
Color definitely matches the age as a more Carmel hue than a rich cabernet typically looks when newer.
The nose is of slight tobacco and leather mixed with a sweet note of black currant and dried orange peel.
The taste is much more mellow compared to the nose.
