Bottle variation? Or more likely taster variation. This was really good tonight. Smooth and mellow. Plenty of fruit and a nicely balanced finish. Must be drinking near prime so drink now or within the next couple years. No rush though as this has structure to hold for longer.

Distinct Syrah markers. A little tar, purple fruit, and a touch black tea on the nose. The palate is rich and expansive, especially in comparison to the 2013 Copain High Rock I had yesterday. There's still some dark fruit there, but it's definitely quieting down. Amazingly, there's a bit of zestiness and red fruit that surges late in the swallow on some sips, in which it still has the feel of a much younger wine. Overall, though the flavors are more tertiary, and relatively quiet if harmonious. A touch of fine tannin at the end.
N.B.: Just noticed that I tasted this seven years ago. How fun! I think these are probably the bookends of readiness for this wine for my personal preference. In other words, if you're holding, drink up!

Dark and brooding. Plenty of fruit still remaining. The finish is a bit acidic and astringent.

second to last bottle. First night a bit heavy on the oak, but night two this is drinking very nicely. A pleasant surprise.

Continues to show very well. Seems like a few more solid years ahead.
