Baffling, obscure, and hard to get. Clearly rich, with herbal notes, and skin contact, given the orange tint. Greg was getting spearmint and Bengay. I found it to be medicinal — at times — with stone fruit, perhaps overripe, as well. Eventually, after an hour or more, notes of tangerine rind, a touch of cream. Tart on the palate, though falls off a cliff. Nose so very complex when juxtaposed. Interested in seeing how this bottle fares over time. @ Chambers

Domaine Mont Maker's Dinner in Barilotto (Barilotto, Otaru, Hokkaido): c.2000 bottles made. 13.0% ABV. Most botrytis infected vintage so far.
Deep copperish orange.
Dry with more bitterness (than the 2018 drank side by side) and more rich honey preserved apricots, orange marmalade notes.
94 points.

Blind
Rose-like. Very light. Pure with strawberry. I thought it might be a Takahiko Rose but turns out to be a Pinot Gris. Quite unique.

Served by the glass into Kimura Cava glass ("Leaf" day): Deep copper to the eyes.
Relatively backwards on the nose compared with previous tasting but focusing on the long umami-filled finish for this showing.
93-94 points at this stage by need time in cellar to showcase its full potential in my view.

By the glass served into Riedel Yoichi glass (“Root” day): Deep orange copper to the eyes.
Umeboshi-like salt preserved stone fruits and plums. Bittersweet to the finish.
94 points easy.
