Crazy wine. Matchstick reduction, smoke, green apples, lime, white flowers and some herbal notes. Very mineral. Dense waxy mouthfeel with high acidity. Long finish, really clean. Really interesting wine, would be hard to call this Riesling blind.

A Winemaker's Dinner with Julien Renard (Restaurant Bar Centraal, Amsterdam, NL): From a single parcel in the Winninger Domgarten, 20 months in wood, bottled unfiltered, no sulfur added (total SO2 30 mg/l), 10.5% ABV (a full percent lower than in 2020 and 1.4% below 2019). A cool year, and a very elegant and energetic rendition of this wine, combining almost Jura-like piercing acidity with fine flavour intensity and its tell-tale playful finesse.
