  • Large amount of sediment present. Very tart, a bit of spice at the end of the palette. Very dry. Wine did not age any better with 3 extra years in the bottle.

  • The wine looks purple colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like alcohol/hot. It tastes like raisin and oak. The body is light/medium. The wine has juicy texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

  • Lots of sediment. Dark color and dark fruit. Very nice spicy finish with plum and dark berry on the palate.

  • I only have a few experiences with petite sirah, so I guess my notes might be a little elementary. Like all bottles from Sunce that I have tried, this one is throwing quite a bit of sediment. Inky purple color about as dark as it gets. Upon first sip, it feels a little bit thin and lacking of body. However, there is at least a decent finish at the end. The wine improves given time out of the bottle, but everything in the palate is still short leading up to the finish. Lots of plum.. Didn't want to rate as I don't have much experience with this varietal, but I would call it acceptable

  • Yeah, fairly grapey and one-dimensional, albeit best I recall bolstered by decent acidity and with an appealingly soft smooth midweight mouthfeel. I thought it *was* like the few other Petite Sirahs in my past and that this grape is not interesting to me as a straight-up varietal wine. Maybe it was more interesting a few years ago, and/or in years ahead - I've heard that about PS (but lack the experience to evaluate), either young or with considerable (15-20+ years) age. but in between lies an extended awkward adolescence.
