Owner/winemaker Jeff White used the German suss reserve technique to back sweeten this 100% PM wine using wine from his late harvest PM, raising the residual sugar from about .1% to 5.2%. High acid, high alcohol (13.9%) and mild sweetness suggest an easy 10+ year drinking window. Pronounced nose of all the expected PM aromas. Full body, long finish. Tasted and purchased 2 bottles at the winery with Jeff's wife Kelly. Having lived near the Mosel, Rhine, and Nahe wine regions for 5 years enjoying the greatest vintage ever (1976), my wife immediately recognized the German style. This is a superb expression of Virginian and American wine making at its finest - a true gem. At 94 points, I may have raged it lower than it deserves.

FCC off-dry wine balanced by acidity with intense flair and weight. Best as aperitif or with spicy foods
