Tatsing on February 12th all blind (SLC): I have never seen a wine drop so much sediment... This was like drinking a wine milkshake! That being said, the flavor was great, Kalamata olives, blood and a hint of pepper. Tannins were still tight and this could likely live till its 20th birthday. Damn fine wine!

Supremely balanced, smoothed out tannins, Big black fruit but earthy and primal. Something raw, marrow and spice. Long finish with black pepper and a hint of woodsy smoke. Really fantastic with game meats; we had elk loon and bison short ribs.

Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Dark core with crimson rim; smells old, cooked, spicy, herbs, iron; higher toned palate, red fruit, sour, density, velvety tannin, sappy, herbs, dark cherry liqueur, blood; think this might have gotten cooked, purchased within the year from Zachy's.

Roasted tobacco and animal. Savory and salty. Way over the hill to me but there it is. UNder coravin for a long time.

Smells of old wine. That palate is lively still. Some bloody ferral ness to it. A raw meat quality to it. Lowery seasoning salt calls out Katie.
