  • At dinner with Riitta. Much better than Trapiche. Profound, dark colour. Tipically peppery Malbec on nose, with a good persistence in mouth, long aftertaste. Fine with cheese, great with reindeer.

Para cenar, con Riitta. Mucho mejor que el Trapiche. Profundo, color obscuro. Tipicamnete pimentoso Malbec en la nariz, con una buena persistencia en boca, largo postgusto. Rico con queso, mejor con carne de reno.

  • High toned and aggressive - and perhaps a touch coarse - this shows a lot of ripe currant and plum fruit alongside notes of leather and vanilla. On the plate this packs a punch; tight and concentrated with a sizeable pile of tannins on the finish. I worry this would dominate a lot of food.

  • At Gaucho's, Briadgate Exchange, London, with Micky and Dave. No formal note. Ripe, quite elegant dark fruit, nicely perfumed, fine tannins, not OTT with attractive vigorous acidity, some warmth on the good length finish detracts a little but still very good.
