Classic Chilean red -- and by that I mean lots of pepper. Both black pepper aromas and green pepper flavors. Beware of sediment lurking at the bottom of the bottle.

color: deep purple; nose: gobs of oak and cherry; taste: mouth feel - plum fruit, soft, full; mid-palate - fruit; finish - moderately long, loads of pepper, a little cocoa, gum-sucking smooth; overall: solid and very enjoyable from start to finish, reminded me a lot of fruity Australian shirazes like Shotfire, Peter Lehmann, and Cat Amongst the Pigeons, probably great with grilled flank steak or burgers, very good QPR ($12 on sale at Chevy Chase Wines in NW DC) and worth stocking up on at that price

Thought something was burning when I opened the bottle. Calmed down after an hour or two but then there was a big flat spot. Three hours after opening some dried earth on the nose and more, light wispy smoke on the palate.
Better than before but not good at best.

Im not sure what the others are missing here. This wine is not what was expected at all. Decidedly old world in style, this tasted WAY more Rhone-like than I could ever have imagined. Wonderful smokiness and tobacco/leather qualities. A STEAL at the price (under $14).

Opened up well after an initial blast of fruit, strawberry in the nose, crowd pleasing N. Rhone style, a little short on the finish.
