P&P through an aerator. A bit tight and thin on the fruit at this stage. Paired quite nicely with grilled pork chops though. Acid is medium++, thinner on the fruit than I'd expect from Spanish Monastrell, but I had low expectations going into this bottle from the start based on the price. Solid though, and given some time to mellow, likely a good buy from FP. Drink now with a couple hours of air-2031.

Second bottle opened. Needs a bit time to breathe but mellows out nicely. Cranberry and ripe fruit. Light tannins. Good mouth feel. Punches above its weight.

A: Deep purple N: Medium (+) intensity, plum sauce, bramble jam, liquorice, dark chocolate truffle, smoked meat, clove, black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon. P: Dry, medium (+) acidity, medium (+) sandy tannin, high alcohol (14.5% abv), full body , pronounced intensity and medium (+) finish This is a very good quality wine. Its expressive of the grape, the jammy fruit is balanced by acid, the length of the spice, chocolate and complexity is pushed through to a fine finish. I think this is worth laying down. The structure is there. Ive no idea what it will turn into in 3 years, but id love to give it a go.

Interesting. Gives off a strong alcohol smell but taste is more subtle. Ok, will open another bottle and compare to other Monastrell and Mouvedre to see how it will rank.

Took about two hours to open up. Compared to another Monastrell it was more complex and took more time to understand.
