Surprisingly fresh and lively still. From a bottle purchased at the domaine more than 10 years ago. Rather rich and full bodied. The 'usual' Southern Rhone notes of Raspberries, Blackberries and lavender. Soft tannins. Hard not to like this wine but the overall excitement level could have been better.

Surprised by the freshness of this. The modern wine making vis a vis the oak is still present, but the fruit is impeccable as is the balance. No 2000-clumsiness here, it is a young wine, that will keep going - and oddly seems younger than both 2000 Pegau and 2000 Vieux Donjon tasted just two days ago during new years festiveness. This wine will live, I just doubt if it will put on complexity.

The second entry in our Rhone weekend. It's raw and snowing outside and this is just right for a fire and some aged cheddar cheese.
Dark purple all the way to the rim.
Nose of blackberry, forest floor and kirsch
Palate of tart cherry, leather, kirsch. Long finish
This wine was purchases from Serge (a big character) at the domaine. Named for one of his three daughters. There are so many of these available and affordable.
Has the wife/daughter approval .... two picky ladies.

Stunning. Ripe nose of earth, mushroom, forest floor and black berry fruits. Flavors are wonderfully earthy. Still on it's way up.
