Root Day - Dark lemon in colour; cork cracked but stayed whole with little penetration of the wine (1/2 cm or so) showing on the bottom portion. Gorgeous nose of hay, white flowers, ripe tropical fruit (pineapple/mango) and a touch of lanolin. On the palate it’s rich and the texture is astonishing with citrus, pineapple, apple, lemon oil and spice. The finish is extremely long with the citrus, fruit and bright acidity along with minerality staying for well over a minute. This is just entering it’s plateau and I’m excited about the fruit and freshness it’s showing today.

Creamy and smooth on the palate - lots of richness with lemon curd and golden delicious apple notes. Long finish with the citrus, apple and also some minerality showing. Drink soon but delicious now

This bottle has been stored under extremely varying conditions over the last many years, so when the cork was breaking up as I opened it, I wasn't hoping for much. But to my surprise, it hadn't turned and still had an okay taste. I drank a glass and will probably cook with the rest. More the fault of the storage than the wine itself.

Much better than I expected. Golden color, buttery, apple and other citrus flavors. The cork was falling apart, but it held a seal.
