Alma Carraovejas tasting, Jeroboam (Jeroboam HQ): 900m altitude, terraces, 92% Tempranillo 5% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Merlot, 12 months oak ageing in both American and French oak, ferments in steel with a small part of in oak -/- The wine shows deep color Big in the nose, very ripe black fruit, very dense, thick oak frame, black cherry liqueur, a touch warm but not aggressively so, black currant, extrovert, powerful, sweet spices. Very modern in style and highly extracted. Palate showing the same flavor profile as the nose, a lot of oak, whole spice, very ripe black fruit, very warm from alcohol, bold tannins, red apple notes, cuts short fast, needs time.
