Past it’s peak. Still rich, full-bodied, but showing its age in the mid-palate to finish. Some bricking and heading towards raisiny. Drink up or you will regret it.

Deep ruby. Full bodied, with ripe, even dateish plums and black cherries, prunes, pepper, cloves, coffee, cocoa, florals, five spice, all around silky, rounded tannins

Popped and decanted for less than an hour, just what was needed here. Even though this is punching high, it has just a few more years to go. Almost fully developed, but showing some nice streaks of brightness still. Deep garnet in the glass. Rich, unmistakable New World nose with tons of robust black fruit, baking spices, cedar, chocolate cake and licorice. The palate has a slight grip to it, but it’s already quite soft for a Cab. Still kicks in the door though, but shows you how well McLaren Vale Cab can age. Drink this soon, don’t wait too long.
