Color: deep gold. Bouquet of creme brulee, caramel, almonds, peach and apricots. Palate gave up some nice botrytis. This was a better, rounder, fatter wine than the bottle from last year. Sweet with a medium length finish, it still came across as a lovely, very feminine Barsac that all enjoyed. I think this showed better as well due to being tasted in a more relaxed setting (after dinner). The acidity issues (being too low?) didn't crop up with this bottle and while wonderful, I'm inclined to agree with last years' assessment: time to drink up while it's still (very) good.

Palate: Very nice older barsac. Good level of botrytis; still sweet with a medium length finish. Very feminine - not a blockbuster, but then again I wasn't expecting that. Brown sugar and caramel on the palate -- nice fruit but it does need more acidity. I don't think this will get any better; drink up. Still, all and all, very nice to sip and enjoy at 40+ years old.

Cork was wet and crumbled. Strained and drank. Almond and honey prevail. Not enough acidity to contrast with sugar and fruit for my taste but still very good. Probably a bit past its prime at this point. At least this bottle was. Drink up.

10 Years Tasting (The same wines now and in 10 years) (Martin Rickenbach): Lots of butter,, liquid butter, aceton, lots of botrytis, a bit boring as it is too sweet and lacks acidity. Seems way younger than it actually is
