Final bottle and what a journey it has been. I cannot say I left the best to last but this bottle drank well with no absolute sense of over maturity. That said, as you will see from my previous reviews, this was a wine at its peak a few years ago. On this evidence, Ataraxia Chardonnay is best drunk 3-5 years from the vintage but can still give great pleasure beyond that timeframe and was better than a 2008 drunk recently.

Penultimate bottle from a superb case and still holding up very well with a graceful maturity. Oaky butterscotch but no bloated sweetness here. Toasted butter and vanilla essence add up to delightful finish.

Stil drinking very well. Medium body and started off with a whiff of orange peel but this soon faded as the buttery melon and oak took over. Nice length

Of course being wine this bottle reminded me that there was still hope - no sign of any heaviness or over maturity - indeed this bottle was comparatively light

Not as noticeable as my last bottle a few months back but again signs of wear and tear here and a wine passed its best - still that it not to say that this was no good - quite the reverse - packed with flavours and depth but just a little heavy - DRINK UP
