Loamy, cocoa, cassis and hints of celery seed. Medium bodied. Elegant and nimble. A hint of a milky lactic quality that I didn't pick up before. Still, a good value.

Football & Merlot @ Howard's 2009 (Old Greenwich, CT): Nice new world/old world cross. Good balance of fruit, oak, spice and loamy soil notes. Medium bodied, but complex and light on it's feet. Never tiring and easy to drink.

Continuing to show well, with ripe cherry, crushed herbs and vanilla notes. Held up well the next day.

A bit more chocolate and mocha this time around. Less Pomerol-like than I last remembered. Cassis, vanilla and a hint of herbs.

Solid Merlot... not too soft or herbal. Good structure and finely defined flavors of plums, cassis and cocoa.
