Over the top but still a tasty wine. Elegant with very little oak fore a Rioja. Still some good cherry fruit. The acid is starting to show a bit much though so drink it now.

Well, this one's past its prime, that's for sure. Not corked, but not much to recommend it; bit of a bite, some acidity, fair amount of particulate matter suspended in the wine. This horse may be ready for the glue factory. Some hints of its former frivolity, but by and large, not a wine as to which I'm looking forward to my last bottle. Oh well. "Shut the drinking window, Grandma, you'll catch your death of cold!"

Very nice aromas of smoked meat, mushroom, spice, and smoke. A little bit of sour cherry on the tip of the tongue with smoke, spice, and citrus rind on the mid palate. Pleasing long finish. Nice wine for the price!

Inaugural (Blind) Tasting, Puget Sound Tasters Club. (Tacoma, WA.): As the opener, the Allende was really a disappointment to those eager to begin the tasting. Plain and unassuming were the adjectives being thrown around this wine. Very dusty, and notes of plum.
