I call this a dual personality wine. Nice deep yellow colour and legs. The nose has aromas of honeysuckles mixed with vanilla and hits of toasted nuts. You almost think it is going to be social wine vs a pairing one. The palate gets surprised. The oak aging comes through – too much for my liking, however after a while the wine grows on you. The toasted nuttiness, creaminess mixed with vanilla and hints of vanilla pair well with a breaded chicken. Acidity is good, well balanced and the finish lingers enough not to overstate its welcome. A very good effort.

tasted at mission hill winery on their outdoor deck overlooking okanagan lake with a gorgeous trout cooked to perfection. oh yah the wine! i found the 06 slc was created with more finesse and subtlety compared to the 04. not as oaky, more watered down (a la euro style). good fruit, acidity, vanilla and creaminess. i think its a great wine! better with a meal.

Against the odds this was first class. Looked totally cooked but drunk brilliantly out of the bottle. Buttery smooth mouth coating. Excellent

2nd bottle didn't get any better: no oak, no complexity. Past its prime... Too bad.
