Medium ruby with only very slight bricking - it appears very youthful for a 16 year old wine. Nose of dark berries, mushroom, undercooked bacon, and wet stones. Medium-bodied in the mouth with aggressive tannins, medium-plus acidity, and secondary flavors of more dark fruits, tertiary flavors of leather, and blood.
This wine still has 10+ years of good drinking. Initial notes made only 30 minutes after opening. Ninety minutes later the tannins had settled down and the wine was much more integrated. Paired beautifully with lamb marinated in garlic, rosemary, and lemon. Decant at least two hours. Beautiful. I wish I had two bottles so I could open the next one in 2030, but probably not a repeat buy at the $107 USD I paid.

Very balanced and elegant flavour profile. Lacking the depth and power to make it a truly great wine but very lovely.
Had it at a Bouchon restaurant in Lyon, the bottle was in very good nick. Beginning to evolve to the next stage and showing signs of tertiary development. Slightly brown at the edge although still has a lovely pure red. Notes of bacon fat, wet stone, dark fruits and some truffle dominate the nose. Body has a soft and supple acid that allows the soft tannin to provide a beautiful contrasting texture. A very long finish. Went very well with a pate en croute and calf's liver!
Drink now to 8+ years.

黑莓、黑樱桃、甘草、丁香、胡椒,一点烟丝和潮湿泥土的气息。入口均衡、宽广、坚实、立体,香气慷慨而有层次。虽然后段单宁质感还带有年轻的感觉,酸度的表现也略显青涩,但已经比较完整地呈现了自身的实力和个性,充满活力的一面也很好的平衡了酒精的存在感。
