  • Good gracious! Musty forest floor just after pulling the cork. The aroma becomes more savory as the wine opens up. Evolves into wet truffles. The palate is full of juicy and dried red fruits, along with durian. The finish is a little hollow but echoes the mid-palate well. It’s wines like this that make me chase Burgundy.

  • A Night with Philippe Pacalet

Chambolle Musigny 2006 : Dark pink colour contains a very beautiful Burgundy scent, deep and dramatic. IMO, Chambolle is not my favorite but this one I can’t deny its fragrant comes along with clean used barrique underneath. Hints of seductive sweet redberry too.
Acid is freshy, not too high, medium to full-bodied, not dense as well, beautiful structure, lovely texture like a young tennis-player…linger…
Aftertaste is deep and polite but truly naughty…super long finished…I can not drink anything for several minutes……..This may be better than Vogue………….95/100…………

Saint-Aubin 1er Cru 2006 : Mild scent of flinty, flowery supported by the exotic fruit, bruised ripe sweet mango…มะม่วงน้ำดอกไม้สุกแบบช้ำๆ...and some other tropical fruits that becomes a beautiful Chadonnay character after 1.30 hours, strong mineral aroma, hints of small white and yellow flowers…supreme…
The body is elegant at the start, then getting more fuller-bodied, very good in balance, not too serious and delicious. The finish is sweet mango remains within 1st hour of drinking. Than becomes a linger, smooth, deep impact, long long finished. The masterpiece !!.....93/100…..

Nuits-Saint-Georges 2006 : Ahh…this’s cloning Prieure Roch’s Nuits “ 1 “ 2005 but showing more weight, strong typical scent of NSG, austere but nice.
Full-bodied, more complex with a little bit lower in acidity, aggressive but looking good in shape. More delicious than Chambolle 2006, Wellmade wine !!
Aftertaste is lovely powerful and lovely long finished……………93/100……………

RIP : Pacalet becomes my top 5 winemakers...the future...vine...stem...organic...terroir...goes into a bottle of wine...

....the great wine from the nice guy....
