nose- vosne spice, black tea mouth - sexy and seductive, largely dark fruit profile with excellent acidity. deeper than the 06 Anne Gros Vougeot that we tried side by side

This is very primary, but the red fruit is showing nicely, like quite a few 2006 Vosne wines. The nose is a little muted at this time, but hints at red fruit and a little mineral. At this young age the wood treatment was certainly not a problem, in fact it was quite positive and gives me thoughts of a good future for this bottle. Maybe wait until at least 2016 for the next bottle.

Dinner in Beaune at Le Bistro de L'Hôtel (Beaune): Really big fruit right now with lots of structure. I found this a challenging wine to really assess. It was an excellent Pinot Noir with lots of red and black fruit, good length and texture. but it came across as so primary that somehow I really wasn't able to get any sense of Vosne today, certainly no indication of Malconsorts' spice, power and elegance. My experience with Le Moine makes me optimistic this will evolve and showcase its terroir, but it wasn't there at this very early stage.
