  • Norton is a fascinating grape. This wine is beautiful on the nose with floral and orange blossom water notes. Body is medium weight now. Palate has rich dark cherry and a nicely integrated tartness that seems to be a bit calmer than the usual norton example--maybe because of the 7 years of age on this bottle. Seems like this is the perfect time to drink this wine.

  • Dark, glass-coating purple maroon color with a full nose of cassis and dark vanilla plum. Highly aromatic and very nice to smell. Body is lighter on the palate than it looks, but not light by any means. Tart green pepper and cassis/plum with a short-ish finish of strong coffee with a little cream and the green pepper tartness. Not a bad wine, though I personally prefer the style of Horton's Norton (and not just for the sake of rhyme). This could be indicative of its aging potential which would seem to be not that much longer if at all.

  • Full and rich with creaminess and lots of fruit. For some reason this bottle seems to have a lot more of the norton tartness than I remember from previous bottles. Not sure if its bottle variation or weather/tiredness/etc on my part.

  • Rich and creamy with a long finish. Meaty and spicy with blueberry and cherry. Something smoky and oily adds complexity. Norton tartness is muted with the age and replaced with a creaminess that is impressive. A really nice wine. Drank with a veggie stew, brown rice and a very mediterrarean fish in wine reduction. Excellent.

  • Nice and full-bodied wine with lots of cherry on the palate. Has an acid backbone and a bit of that norton tartness that you either love or hate. Seems smoky and oily on the nose. Overall a good wine with personality and lots of distinctive taste.
