Another weirdo blend from Fujimaru, Merlot and Muscat Bailey A, which is a uniquely Japanese hybrid grape that has never really impressed me. Nose of mulberry, prune, and herbs. The palate is even more green and herbaceous, presumably from early harvest (damn those humid summers, I suppose otherwise you'd have something flabby and even worse). Unfortunate, and confirms my belief that minimal-intervention whites are what the Japanese do best.
