Chablis, Dom. Laurent, Suduiraut, Madeira (John V.'s): Wow, this was a gorgeous wine. Certainly at peak as it began to fade after a few hours. Purple in color, flat with just a bit of browning. The nose is earthy with cherries a and a slightly wax crayon note. Soft texture. Complex and layered. Very smooth at first then the tannins build with air. Cherries and earth. Long finish. One of the more compelling Burgundies I have had in a while. I kept wanting to go back to it.
