I've had this bottle for awhile and after tasting, I know why. Great pinot nose and flavor, Very nice fruit. Had with a pork tenderloin with garlic and honey glaze and it mated perfectly.

Clear ruby, pink watery edges. Pinot red fruits, red cherries, raspberries, cranberries. Thankfully none of the heat I feared from a 14.5% wine (and a pinot at that). Some herbs and earth slowly emerge. Not the fruit bomb I was fearing either. Medium body, slightly sweet entry, same red fruits on the palate, slight spicy pepperiness & herbaceousness with some jammy red fruit on the medium length finish. Medium acidity and smooth tannins. Lacks complexity and minerality I like in my Pinots but good fruit.

PnP. Clear, deep dark purple. Reserved nose with hint of Pino and old wine. This is a very big wine. Full body, seemed more like a cab or syrah than Pino. Long, powerful finish. Better with air time as fruit opened up somewhat. Nothing off but certainly different than US Pino's. OK to hold for another year, would recommend a long decant.

Opened up nicely after an hour or so. Well balanced, with flavors of cherry and chocolate. Perhaps lacking a little complexity and finish. Nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable. Salud!

Considering it's age, it was very rich and smooth.
