Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 87 points

  • Very dark ruby color that is consistent all the way towards the rim. Great nose with lots of blackcurrant and blackberry aromas undertoned by an obvious yet subtle bouquet of oak, chocolate and coffee. This surprisingly complex nose translates into a full-bodied wine with excellent fruit on the attack and ripe plum coming through, harmoniously balanced with chewy tannins on the mid-palate and a medium finish. At $12 a bottle, this is the best QPR I have ever seen. I give it an 87 plus, with all standard criteria applied. Strongly recommend if you are able to get ahold of some. Don't be afraid to cellar a few cases because they will continue to evolve and show additional complexity as they age. Best after 2012. Excess sediments. Decant before drinking.
