  An enticing, deep rich purple colour with ruddy-brown edges, the nose is spicy with sweet tar and pine predominant. Light-medium bodied there is firm tannin and acidity with little fruit until a cherry attack on the finish, which lingers. This is an enjoyable wine, ideal with food but, at least for me, not too astringent for a couple of evening glasses on its own. 87-88pts.
