  • This wine was bought at release (not en premier) and has been in my cellar of cool and excellent condition ever since. The cork eased out very nicely. The wine had a wonderful scent when it was decanted. It is medium-light in body but very fragrant and showing just a light warmer color. I was able to get a brilliantly clear wine after the bottle had been standing up for a couple of day. In the palate the wine style shows bright but evolved fruit. Mostly red fruit. There is tannins but not harsh. The flavor profile is not completely dominated by mature flavors which are there but there is a back ground of acidity and freshness keeping it away from mature wine only flavor profile. It is a pretty style of Margaux, with a little flower, violet and lilac. It is a beautifully attractive wine for a classic sort of lamb course. Just lovely and no hint of being passed prime.

  • This was purchased upon release and stored well ever since. The cork was in great shape and the wine was singing straight out of the bottle. I did not decant in fear that the fruit would fade with too much aeration. This held up for 2 hours during consumption and was delicious to the last drop. Incredible and vibrant nose on this wine. Mostly red fruit driven with an elegant Margaux finish. Yum!

  • The nose is a 95 and the palate is a 91 but Im a sucker for old musty wines, so it gets a big smile and an extra point from me. A GREAT Bordeaux experience, with nothing but old world allure and class. This bottle was a true claret, with its pinot noir body and burgundy vibe. If blind, I would have guessed early 2000's Burgundy of sorts. Tons of mature musty red fruit notes with a good amount of coffee and cedar chest. Lacks tremendous length, but the bouquet makes up for it. Way different than my last bottle in a good way. Good old bottle! DRINK

  • Past peak now, clearly a wine that needs drinking and about 45 minutes to come to...Improved over 90 minutes and then it slid off the hill....The usual stuff you can expect in a well made fully mature bordeaux. Dense 1990 appearance with lots of cedar, beefy notes and coffee, and very little fruit balance...Faded... DRINK

  • Plum, sweet, but drying up and little complexity
