Consumed at an offline at Pamplemousse Grille in Solana Beach. Big, dark fruit and toasty oak. Shows promise and should drink well from two or three years from now through five and be enjoyed for the long haul.

The best California wine of the 2003 WS Grand Tour. This was not an official wine but when we said we knew Cave Girl Dave Del Dotto pulled it out. 100% Cab from a single barrel lot which is only sold at the winery. It had candied fruit notes upfront and was full bodied. At first, I thought it was a nice 91 point wine with black fruit notes but the wine grew and grew and about 30 seconds into it some fantastic coffee notes showed up which blew me away. Well integrated tannins for a wine so young. If this is a harbinger of what 2001 holds in store then I am officially getting excited. 94+.

Big bold red/black cherry fruit. Huge tannic monster right now, needs time.

Black cherry, sweet oak, very creamy texture, long finish, smooth tannins.
