  High-end Rhone Dinner at a friend's house. (Hollywood): Dark ruby color. The nose is precise, with white pepper, red and black fruit, leather, olives and bacon fat. The palate is precise and balanced. Extreme purity on the nose and palate, long finish. This is what Northern Rhône should taste like. Wow.

  Heaters (Chicago, IL): The nose was initially somewhat demure, showing lots of red fruit and an extremely concentrated note of castelvetrano olive brine (yeah, it's that specific), but it's really the palate here where this wine really shines. The fruit is generally more red than black, and there's a coolness to it that makes this wine feel very light (despite the concentration of the usual syrah components). What's more is the texture here, which is like the typical Allemand silkiness but twice that. No rough edges at all, this is a textural masterpiece. The issue with this wine was that a few hours in (without a decant), the flavour profile started to change and became progressively more volatile. My recommendation for my future self is to not open this bottle in advance and to finish it in 2-3 hours.

  Fairly dark, not quite opaque; amazing nose: floral, mint, blueberry, pine forest, then fabulous dark fruit with a purity of essence in the form of a slight blueberry/raspberry sweetness, excellent fine structure, good but not dominant acidity, just so much creamy intensity, pure and vibrant.

  Acker Auction & Commanderie des Costes du Rhone (Zuma & Racines): First time trying this wine and it was also really nice. Very young and I think needs some more time, but it's quite elegant and lovely.
