  • With Truffled Goat Cheese(hard)/Peking Duck
PnP very alive from get go. lots of floral, little earth, red fruited, tame apple, little funk coming and going but very complimentary.. very sneaky subtle wine.
60 minutes-truffle and Asian 5 spice.nice acidity but it is in background. Faint chicory. Light spearmint. licorice.
With Duck Baking Spices and Cranberries, rhubarb come out .
    Great Bottle! 94-96 points

  • Opened to celebrate the life of Joe Rochioli Jr. who passed away earlier this week. Crimson in color. 14.2% ABV. Pretty nose of ripe red fruits, baking spices and flowers. Medium to full bodied with exquisite acidity. Bold fruits that belie 16 years of bottle age. Black cherry, cloves, cola and minerals on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Rochioli Pinot Noir at its very best. Best over the next year or so. RIP Joe.

  • blackberrries, bay leaf and subtle blue cheese.. delicious from the get go and needed little decanting but opened up beautifully with a bit of time.. We drank it over two nights using a Coravin the first night. Lovely accompaniment to very different dinners both heavy and light

  • Bright juicy red cran/strawberry note is the flavor Maypole which other birch, cola, red bean, brown butter essences flit around in and out of perception.

This is one wine where the wee waggish wine witticism: “Deliciously Uncomplicated” works.

Just a hair too jammy or a hair to light on acidity to pair with suckling tempeh.

But one of the best apparatif wines EVER.
