  Both aroma and taste have strong dark chocolate tones, pow, just like popping a Garibaldi 86% taster. Ok fruit, not well balanced. Although the label says Merlot, what is it? only 85% needs to be Merlot? I suspect that some of the remainder, whatever the Merlot percentage, is Cabernet Franc. Nice touch.
  
  Overall, a basic Merlot; but given that this is from the state of Virginia I'd have to say above average. Good with spicy Tandoori chicken. Notes of earthiness and leather, some spice.
