Quite dark brownish red. More floral aromas than tar and liquorice. Light footed, soft and feminin, but very concentrated, with good acidity and some tannins in the background. Perfectly mature and lovely now, but will last.

Nose of V8 juice. Palate OK but nothing special. Tastes past prime to me, but if you have some, hold it and hope that I am wrong. Perhaps I just don't understand Nebiollo.

The nose was dark and intense showing masses of dried cherry, as dusty soil and minerals mixed with exotic spice wafted up from the glass. Notes of dried roses, leather and hints of undergrowth developed over time. On the palate, I found a soft and energetic expression with savory cherry, saline-minerality, cedar, a mix of brisk acidity and hints of residual tannin. It finished long, resonating on inner florals, earth, and dried red fruits, which seemed to go on for minutes.

Very dark for a Barbaresco this age. Aromas are dark and resiny - like tar or asphalt. Quite full and satisfying in the mouth, and a very food friendly wine. It's a far cry from the rather dainty, fruity and rather burgundian wine I drank when this was a lot younger.

Classic barbaresco , leather car and other typical notes, long finish but still has vigor. Surprised by ’not so hot notes below
