I agree with Pintag, Popped on Sunday and had with grilled chicken, went well, the wine seemed to like the smoky element from the wood and charcoal. The wine doesn't belie it's age and looks very youthful. Fruit acid is still very present, it makes the wine finish with a bright raspberry granite note that really makes the wine say "have me with food". All in all, for the price, the wine is a killer deal. I also see no rush to drink these. Finished Monday with rack of lamb- that's what the wine wanted all along, lamb... Who'da thunk??

14.6% abv. Recent purchase from WineBid. Pretty tightly coiled on the pop 'n pour. Didn't really fully open up after an hour, so I vacuvin'd and stored at room temp. The next evening this showed better, definitely in a more restrained style - not a ripe-fruited Syrah at all, but plenty of fruit. This was very good in flavor profile, mouthfeel, and balance, but not great in any way at all. Overall, I was hoping for more of a transcendent experience, but this seemed to be holding up pretty well and drank nicely. Third evening there was a half glass left and it also drank well, so no hurry on this.

Deep purple color, lots of blackberry and a touch of maple syrup on the nose, plum and spice flavors. Sturdy body, good enough to hold up to steak and peppery foods.

This wine needed time in the glass, and opened up to reveal what I expect from Qupe' and Stolpman vineyard fruit. Overall a very nice wine, but there are other local offerings that are better at this price-point.
