Dark purple in the glass. Nose and palate of blackberry, blueberry, tar, and ash. Fruit is all very dark. Full body. Medium plus tannins. Medium lip-smacking acidity. Moderately lengthy, dark finish. In an awesome place right now. Steak is its friend. Serve to people who want sophistication but can’t quite handle Old World stuff.

Bottle was leaking so had to open to verify contents. They were fine, though the wine is probably a bit young. This was a PnP at a friend's house. He had no decanter and between three of us we finished the bottle before it had a chance to develop in the glass. Color was a standard dark purple with a near opaque eye. Nose was a bit weak, but glasses were not optimal and see leakage note above. Firm tannic mouthfeel with typical Petite Sirah blue-black fruit on the palate and some marzipan vanilla on the finish. Won't formally rate the wine but it was very good from this minorly flawed bottle. Can't wait to try some from a better bottle.
