This is overall very good, but a little young. The nose has dark fruits, some classic Gevrey sauvage and game, hints of mushroom. There is a hint of oak, but not obtrusive. The palate is dark and rich with good depth, but not quite the depth and finish I was hoping for. I think it will still improve so at this point I'd definitely hold for another few years at least.

nice burgundy with ample fruit and ample earth/funk to make it interesting, not grippy in any way (typical '06), easy and pleasant drinking with just a modicum of secondary character to add to the fruit which lifted this up a level from an 89

Good color. The nose is aromatic, but somewhat light. It displays cherries, flowers, earth, mineral and a hint of oak. This medium full bodied wine shows good concentration and reasonable finesse. The medium plus length finish shows slightly rustic tannins and decent acidity. A bit feeble and light for a Grand Cru.

Fresh aromatics, more cherry and strawberry leaning. Lighter on the palate but some nice French funk. Not Grand Cru class really in this bottle, but not bad either. Glad got for a good price.

Burgundy About Town (Various Vinous Venues, San Francisco): Light to medium color. Delicate and earthy like its stable mates with more of a hint of sweetness to the fruit, but honestly, not that much better than the Premier Crus and a joke for Grand Cru wine. Very disappointing given the quality of this wine in some vintages.
