  • blackberries, mint, mocha, cassis, dark plum, baking spice, forest floor, truffle, black currant, chocolate and savory herbs.

The Monastery block and their black bottle To Kalon bottles often showcase more elegance and structure than their standard reserve bottling. I believe the Monastery now just goes to PNV yearly. Special plot of land which is a few blocks over from the Macdonald vineyard.

  • Dark red with purple hues, nose of slight coconut and caramel. Medium plus palate with good transparency and nice acid lift at the end. Not a blockbuster but a very elegant Napa wine that will age nicely.
