Part of a Spanish wine tasting at a Steakhouse with my wine group. My final bottle of 6 that I purchased on release. Despite WA's warning, they all tasted very good and seemed to deserve WA's original lofty score. At this point, I think the wine finally started to show its age, and is now a little past its peak.

My next to last bottle of 6 I bought on release. The best one so far. Opened, but not decanted, at a NYC restaurant with my wine group. Not everyone's cup of tea, but those that liked it, loved it. Reminded me of a Mourvedre heavy blend of a Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

My second of 4 bottles. I think there is some bottle variation going on here. I didn't enjoy this as much as the first bottle. It was very light in color, and a high acid wine. The high acid made it very food friendly. I lowered my rating two points on this bottle because I picked up hints of oxidation (a prune type aroma), but it seemed to come and go. I have two more bottles and plan on finishing them in the next few months.

According to WA this is: 50% Monastrell, 25% Malbec, and 25% Petit Verdot aged for 13 months in French and American oak. Not long after I bought it, WA added the following to its on line review (which gave it 96 points) "(Note: Compaints based on different bottlings from what Mr. Miller tasted make us suspicious of what happened at the winery. Until further notice, readers are advised to bypass this wine.)"
Because I bought it before this came out, I had 4 bottles, which I promptly forgot about. I brought it to a tasting and explained that our expectations should be low. Turned out to be a very good to almost great wine. I don't know how my remaining three bottles will be, but I am going to drink them this year.
